1973 loves LFW

Here at 1973 we like to look at all aspects of design to inspire us and alert us to up-and-coming trends and colour pallets. London Fashion week is no exception. So much influence in design comes from this one event. As it trickles down to the high street and into different mediums you can't help but be inspired. Here are a couple of my faves......

MAN: I always really like the MAN show, even though the male models are by far prettier than the average woman. The tailoring at this show is always spot on. I must point out that I like the clothes for myself, I couldn't imagine my boyfriend in a sheer lilac top.

Marios Schwab: Mixing silk and leather, funny Joan Jett-esque mullets.. Beautiful graphics and use of contrasting fabrics

Erdem: Spring floral print HEAVEN

details: amazing embroidery by Jenny King whom my sister assists sometimes when she's not busying herself with having babies. Jenny's embroidery has a folky yet clean finish to it much like our Heidi range. (nice plug huh!?)

Richard Nicoll gorgeous colour pallet.... gotta love a bit of pleating

Michael van der Ham: an incredible talent. Anyone that can make 3 dresses sewn together look so beautiful deserves all the praise they receive. His 'collaged' creations are not for the faint hearted but here at 1973 we love innovation.
